Using the Library

What the library can do for you

There are two ways you may register for a card.  You may complete an online library card application, and a confirmation postcard will be mailed to you.  If you apply online, please bring your postcard along with a government issued photo I.D. to the library to receive a library card.

You may also register in the library using a valid form of identification, and a postcard will be mailed to verify your current address.  You may check out 2 items at a time until the postcard is received and shown to one of our staff members.

A parent or guardian with valid photo identification must sign for applicants under the age of 18.

Existing Card Holders

To replace a lost or damaged card, please bring a valid form of identification to one of our locations and a new card will be issued to you for a $1 charge.  To report a stolen card, please contact one of our staff members at a location near you.

If you want an item that we do not have, do not fret! We can probably get it for you.

If the item is less than a year old, head over to the book requests page where you can place a request to get the item in our collection.

If the item came out more than a year ago, you can place an interlibrary loan request to borrow the item from another library.

The Library provides a variety of electronic media.  There is no charge for the use of any of these services.  Patrons may use the library computers for Internet access, spreadsheets, library databases, and more.  Free WiFI is available for patron access at the main library.

How many pages can I print?

Patrons may print up to 5 pages of these services at no charge.  Additional pages are $0.25 per page.  Any graphic cost $1.00 per page.  No paper may be brought into the library for use in the library’s computers.

Can I save my work?

Patrons may purchase a disk from the library or bring their own device for saving their work.  Nothing can be saved on the computer’s hard drive.

Do I need a library card?

Patrons using the computers must have a valid library card.  Visitor passes are available to those who do not reside within the county.

Wifi is freely available to anyone that brings a device.

How long can I use a computer?

Computer access is offered on a “first come, first served” basis and will be limited to 30 minutes when others are waiting.  If no one is waiting for a computer, patrons may remain until another patron requests access.  At that time, the first patron must immediately relinquish access to the waiting patron.

Patrons are responsible for providing their own headsets. Patrons may purchase ear buds from the library for $1.00.

The library staff will assist patrons with the computers as time permits, but cannot offer personal instruction.  Free computer classes are offered at basic, intermediate, and advanced levels.  To register for a class, contact one of our staff members at 726-6129 or email
